Welcome to Leroi Lion Safaris. These Terms and Conditions govern bookings, enquiries, safari arrangements, trekking experiences, transfers, excursions, and other travel services booked through Leroi Lion Safaris.

By making a booking, paying a deposit, confirming an itinerary, or using our travel services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. About Leroi Lion Safaris

Leroi Lion Safaris is a Tanzania-based tour operator providing safari experiences, Kilimanjaro trekking, cultural tours, transfers, excursions, and related travel services.

2. Booking and Confirmation

A booking is considered confirmed once:

• we have accepted your booking request;
• the required deposit or agreed payment has been received; and
• we have issued written confirmation of your booking.

Availability may change before payment is received. Submitting an enquiry or itinerary request does not by itself guarantee availability.

The person making the booking on behalf of a group is responsible for ensuring that all travellers are aware of and accept these Terms and Conditions.

3. Prices

Prices are normally quoted in the currency shown in your itinerary, quotation, invoice, or package description.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, prices may be based on factors including:

• number of travellers;
• accommodation category;
• travel dates;
• park fees and government charges;
• transport arrangements;
• activities selected; and
• services included in the itinerary.

We reserve the right to correct genuine pricing errors before a booking is confirmed.

If government taxes, park fees, conservation fees, fuel costs, exchange rates, or other mandatory charges change significantly after quotation, we may revise the booking price where reasonably necessary. Any such adjustment will be communicated to you.

4. Deposits and Payments

The required deposit and payment schedule will be stated in your quotation, invoice, or booking confirmation.

Your booking may not be secured until the required deposit has been received.

The remaining balance must be paid by the deadline stated in your booking documents.

If payment is not received by the agreed due date, we may treat the booking as cancelled after reasonable notice.

Bank charges, transfer fees, card charges, or payment-provider fees may be payable by the traveller unless otherwise stated.

5. Cancellation by the Traveller

If you wish to cancel your trip, you must notify us in writing by email or another agreed written communication method.

Cancellation charges may apply depending on:

• how close the cancellation is to the departure date;
• payments already made to hotels, lodges, airlines, parks, guides, or other suppliers;
• non-refundable permits or tickets; and
• the cancellation conditions of third-party suppliers.

Some deposits, park fees, gorilla or trekking permits, flight tickets, accommodation payments, or other supplier charges may be non-refundable.

The exact cancellation terms applicable to your booking should be confirmed in your quotation or booking confirmation.

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation and interruption cover.

6. Changes Requested by the Traveller

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requested changes after confirmation.

However:

• changes are subject to availability;
• additional costs may apply;
• some services may be non-changeable or non-refundable; and
• supplier amendment fees may apply.

A material change of travel dates may be treated as a cancellation and new booking where suppliers require it.

7. Changes by Leroi Lion Safaris

Travel in Tanzania and East Africa may be affected by weather, road conditions, wildlife movements, park regulations, flight schedules, safety considerations, accommodation availability, and other operational circumstances.

We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to:

• accommodation;
• routes;
• activities;
• transport;
• guides;
• departure times; or
• the order of itinerary activities

where necessary for safety, operational reasons, or circumstances beyond our control.

Where possible, we will provide an equivalent or suitable alternative.

8. Cancellation by Leroi Lion Safaris

In rare circumstances, we may need to cancel a tour due to events outside our reasonable control or because it is unsafe or impractical to operate.

If we cancel a service before departure for reasons within our control, we will seek to offer an appropriate alternative, credit, or refund depending on the circumstances and any amounts recoverable from suppliers.

We are not responsible for losses caused by events classified as force majeure or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

9. Force Majeure

Leroi Lion Safaris will not be liable for failure or delay in performing services caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

• severe weather;
• floods, fires, or natural disasters;
• epidemics or pandemics;
• war, terrorism, or civil unrest;
• strikes;
• border closures;
• government restrictions;
• changes in park regulations;
• transport disruption;
• flight cancellations;
• road closures; or
• other extraordinary events.

Where possible, we will assist travellers in finding reasonable alternative arrangements. Additional costs arising from such circumstances may be the traveller’s responsibility.

10. Passports, Visas and Travel Documents

Travellers are responsible for ensuring that they have valid:

• passports;
• visas;
• permits;
• travel documents;
• vaccination certificates where required; and
• any other entry or transit documentation.

Passport and visa requirements may change. Travellers should confirm current requirements with the relevant authorities before travel.

Leroi Lion Safaris cannot accept responsibility for a traveller being refused entry, boarding, or participation because of incomplete or invalid documentation.

11. Health and Medical Requirements

Travellers are responsible for ensuring that they are medically fit for the activities included in their trip.

Certain activities, particularly Kilimanjaro trekking, walking safaris, or remote travel, may require a reasonable level of physical fitness.

You should disclose any medical condition, disability, allergy, dietary requirement, or other relevant information that may affect your participation or require special arrangements.

Travellers should seek professional medical advice regarding vaccinations, malaria prevention, altitude, and other health considerations before travelling.

12. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that every traveller obtains comprehensive travel insurance before departure.

Your insurance should, where appropriate, cover:

• medical treatment;
• emergency evacuation;
• trip cancellation;
• trip interruption;
• delayed or lost luggage;
• personal belongings;
• personal liability; and
• activities included in your itinerary.

For Kilimanjaro or other high-altitude activities, travellers should ensure their insurance specifically covers trekking at the relevant altitude.

13. Wildlife and Adventure Travel

Safaris and adventure travel involve natural environments and conditions that cannot always be controlled.

Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Travellers must follow the instructions of guides, drivers, park officials, and accommodation staff at all times.

By participating in safari, trekking, hiking, or other outdoor activities, you acknowledge that such activities may involve risks including:

• wildlife encounters;
• uneven terrain;
• altitude;
• changing weather;
• road conditions;
• remote locations; and
• limited access to immediate medical care.

14. Accommodation and Third-Party Services

We work with hotels, lodges, camps, airlines, transfer providers, activity operators, and other independent suppliers.

Their services may be subject to their own terms and operating conditions.

While we take reasonable care when selecting suppliers, Leroi Lion Safaris is not responsible for acts, omissions, operational failures, or service changes by independent third parties where such matters are outside our reasonable control.

15. Flights and Transport

Flight schedules may change without prior notice.

Travellers are responsible for providing correct passenger names and travel details exactly as required for tickets and reservations.

We cannot be held responsible for delays or cancellations caused by airlines, airports, weather, traffic, road conditions, or other transport providers.

Where reasonably possible, we will assist with alternative arrangements.

16. Kilimanjaro and Trekking

Mountain trekking involves altitude, physical exertion, and changing weather conditions.

Reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro cannot be guaranteed.

Our guides may require a traveller to stop, descend, or alter the trekking plan if they believe continuing could create a health or safety risk.

Decisions made by the lead mountain guide regarding safety must be respected.

17. Traveller Conduct

Travellers are expected to behave respectfully toward:

• local communities;
• guides and staff;
• other travellers;
• wildlife;
• accommodation providers; and
• national park regulations.

We reserve the right to terminate a traveller’s participation where behaviour is abusive, dangerous, illegal, threatening, or seriously disruptive.

In such circumstances, refunds may not be available.

18. Damage and Personal Property

Travellers may be responsible for damage they intentionally or negligently cause to vehicles, accommodation, equipment, or other property.

Leroi Lion Safaris is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings unless directly caused by our proven negligence.

Travellers should keep passports, money, electronics, and valuables secure and adequately insured.

19. Photography and Media

During tours, photographs or videos may occasionally be taken for operational or promotional purposes.

Where identifiable images of travellers are intended for promotional use, we will seek appropriate permission where reasonably required.

If you do not wish to appear in promotional photography or video, please inform us.

20. Complaints

If you experience a problem during your trip, please inform your guide or our team as soon as possible so that we have an opportunity to resolve it.

Please provide relevant booking details and a clear explanation of the issue.

21. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Leroi Lion Safaris will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

22. Website Information

We aim to keep information on our website accurate and current.

However:

• itineraries may change;
• prices may change;
• accommodation may become unavailable;
• seasonal conditions may affect activities; and
• photographs are illustrative and may not represent exact conditions during your trip.

Your confirmed quotation or booking confirmation takes priority over general website information where differences occur.

23. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, website content including text, branding, design elements, graphics, and original materials belongs to Leroi Lion Safaris or is used with permission.

Content may not be copied, reproduced, or commercially distributed without permission.

24. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are intended to be governed by the applicable laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.

Any dispute should first be addressed through good-faith communication between the traveller and Leroi Lion Safaris before other remedies are pursued.

25. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or business changes.

The latest version will be published on our website with the effective or updated date.
